"First Date" is the first segment of the seventh episode (and the thirteenth story overall) of Close Enough.

While Josh and Emily try to rekindle their relationship, Alex acts as Bridgette's wingman on a horrifying double date.

Alex backhandedly reveals that he is an atheist in this episode.
This was the second episode in which featured Bridgette's jealousy toward women trying to make moves on Alex.
It’s revealed Josh and Emily went to ScaresVille, a haunted house attraction, for their first date, which took place in Fall 2007 due to Josh saying he thinks the film Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium will win Best Picture, and that film was released November 2007.
- However, this episode takes places during October due to Josh making Candice a costume for a pumpkin patch event, so it’s unknown if the first date also took place during October as well. Josh also could’ve just seen the trailer for the film and thought it looked good enough to win Best Picture.
This is the first episode not to feature Candice despite her being mentioned.
Alex mentions he was Josh’s wingman during high school, and one time it led to Josh pooping in a pool.
This is the second episode wherein Bridgette constantly competes with another woman for her ex-husband, with the first being "Robot Tutor".
- The episode in general shows that Bridgette and Alex do still have some lingering feelings for each other, due to Brigette’s jealousy and fear over Alex moving on, and them looking lovingly at each other after Alex reveals he memorized what all her teeth look like because they make up her smile.
